6th Grade | Animations
EMS 6th grade Artists studied the history of animation as we watched the film "A Pixar Story".This film taught students the importance of traditional animation, beginning all the way back in the 1920's, to the computer animations of today. Students had to take an everyday non-living object and bring it to life. Our inspiration came from the living lamp logo Pixar uses . Students were given a small glimpse of what it takes to create the animated cartoons and films that they love! We created traditional and digital animations using the "Stop Motion Studio" App.
Students worked together in groups of 3-5 as a production crew. Each group member played a roll as Head Artist, Marketing Manager, Production Manager, Director or Animator. They planned together, drew out characters, built backgrounds and created their own storyboards . Students "pitched" their films to "Paulson Productions" and away we went! When films were finished the Production Teams created Promotions for their animations ranging from tickets, to flyers, to television ads.
We hope you enjoy the featured short films created at Paulson Productions!
